POSITION DESCRIPTION: Challenge Games is looking for an experienced Linux System Administrator. The position is responsible for architecting and implementing the deployment architecture for our current and future games. Backups, restoration, monitoring, and notifications will also be part of the job.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Architecting and implementing a multi-tiered web-based games on Linux servers running Apache 2, MySQL 5, and PostgreSQL 8.x.
- Patching the OS, LAMP stack, and associated libraries as needed.
- Managing the backup and restoration of production servers and services.
- Optimizing the configuration settings for PHP, Apache, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.
- Administering nagios, cacti, and other monitoring/reporting tools.
ALSO HELPFUL: Substantial interest in playing CCG games such as Magic: The Gathering, WoW: Trading Card Game, or similar games. Substantial experience playing MMORPGs such as World of Warcraft. Experience playing casual games on sites such as Pogo, Yahoo! Games, or other similar sites is also useful.
